We are seeking a Furniture Designer specializing in hardlines and upholstery to join the Nursery Furniture Team. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of high-quality, comfortable, and aesthetically refined furniture pieces, including cribs, upholstered seating, beds, bedroom furniture, and casegoods.
You will balance creative innovation with market trends, cost targets, and engineering and safety requirements, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams throughout the product development process. This position also supports the team’s graphic and visual needs, translating design concepts into compelling visual assets for product presentation and marketing.
This role is ideal for a designer with a strong passion for furniture design, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Design and develop original furniture concepts, as well as refine and improve existing designs, ensuring alignment with defined aesthetics, cost targets, and product requirements.
Own the end-to-end design process, from concept development through final approval, including coordination with engineering to meet quality, safety, and construction standards.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, sourcing, and product—to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and production-ready.
Prepare and deliver finalized cost sheets and technical documentation to support quoting and manufacturing processes.
Create detailed 3D models and high-quality, photorealistic renderings of furniture pieces such as cribs, upholstered seating, beds, bedroom furniture, and casegoods.
Conduct market and competitive research to inform design decisions and ensure product relevance within the category.
Prepare and present design concepts, updates, and recommendations to cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders.
Produce realistic AI-generated lifestyle imagery to support product presentations, marketing initiatives, and visual storytelling.
Design and update packaging, cartons, and other retail-facing visual assets in alignment with brand and product guidelines.
Maintain and evolve design guidelines, ensuring consistency across visual assets and incorporating new requirements as the product line develops.
Proven, advanced experience in hardlines and upholstery furniture design, including familiarity with high-risk products and safety-driven requirements.
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for technical design and KeyShot for high-quality renderings and visualizations.
Advanced skills using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to support graphic design, packaging, and visual assets.
Solid knowledge of materials, finishes, and construction methods related to hardlines and upholstered furniture.
Experience in image retouching, color correction, and maintaining visual consistency across large sets of design and marketing assets.
Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Strong collaboration skills, with openness to feedback and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, adapting to shifting priorities and competing demands.
High level of organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the design process.
A strong sense of aesthetic judgment and interior design sensibility, with a passion for creating beautiful, functional products.
Advanced English level, both written and verbal.
